HomeNurse, Inc. was a proud participant and supporter of for the American Diabetes Association, Father’s Day Council, at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia.

 2006 is the third year that the Father's Day Council in Atlanta, Georgia has hosted the Father of the Year Awards Dinner, benefiting the American Diabetes Association. Since the first event in 2004, our honoree fathers and council members have raised over $261,000 to help support the advocacy, research and information initiatives of the American Diabetes Association. These funds help the American Diabetes Association fulfill its mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

The Atlanta Father's Day Council is proud to announce and recognize five amazing leaders in our community as this year's Father of the Year honorees.

  • Mr. Ernest L. Greer, Shareholder – Greenberg Traurig, LLP
  • Mr. C. David Moody, Jr., President and CEO – C.D. Moody Construction, Inc.  
  • Mr. R. Timothy Stack, President and CEO – Piedmont Healthcare  
  • Mr. Louis D. Zakas, Chairman – AHEPA Centennial Foundation

There are 20.8 million children and adults in the United States, or 7% of the population, who have diabetes. While an estimated 14.6 million have been diagnosed with diabetes, unfortunately, 6.2 million people (or nearly one-third) are unaware that they have the disease.
