Home Care Patient Protection Act

The Georgia State Legislature has passed and implemented House Bill 183 which revises the classification of individuals that provide services on behalf of a Private Home Care Provider Agency. A copy of the bill is attached. Effective immediately, companion sitters and personal care assistants must be W2 employees rather than 1099 independent contractors.

Hundreds of soldiers, domestic and abroad, travel every day in service of their country.  Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, in conjunction with the Atlanta USO, provide a special greeting and welcome for our nation’s service men and women as they pass through.  Al Nelwan, HomeNurse Vice President, is there to lend his support.  “Having served gives me that special insight and appreciation for these men and women in harm’s way…supporting them in any form or fashion is extremely important”, commented Al Nelwan.

United Hospice Foundation 2013

HomeNurse was a participant and sponsor for the 11th annual Neil L. Pruitt, Sr. Classic held at Callaway Gardens on May 9, 2013.  “We have been a supporter and partner for many years and will be for many years to come…the programs and initiatives provided by United Hospice are invaluable for many Georgians.   From the hospice education, care, and end of life issues to the Foundation’s Camp Cocoon, a bereavement camp for children, United Hospice Foundation continues to be there for those in need.”, commented Libby Able, RN, President.

Veteran’s Assistance Program

 HomeNurse, Inc. is proud to coordinate volunteer support aide services for Veterans in need of the United States Armed Forces.

 “Many of our Veterans who have served and sacrificed have greater needs in order to maintain their level of independence. And it is often the case they fall between the cracks of our medical system.  We are excited to assist in the coordination of providing these support services through volunteers and other community based programs, commented Al Nelwan, Vice President.
